Every image on this and every page is copyright protected. A few have been sold to a publishing firm. If you get caught using them you will be dealing with an law suit by the publishing firm. After 15 days on the islands we did not want to come home!!
All photos here like everywhere else on my web site are thumbnails. Click the small photo for a larger one.
OUR BIKE TRIP ON THE MAUI VOLCANO Me on left my small (6foot 1inch) 16 year old on the right At 10,023 feet We were above the clouds - you can see the big island's volcano in the back ground Me freaking out everyone around, standing on a wall no one else would even get close to. 30-40 mile an hour winds (check out my hair) and a large drop behind me. Our tour bike guides almost lost their minds. My son said "I'm not doing that" Guess he has more sense then me.
Silver sword only grows above 5000 feet. Lives for 100 years flowers once and dies.
Nene (Hawaiian goose) looks like a Canada goose with zebra stripes. Lives high up on the volcanos. I asked if we were going to see any nene "knee knee" our guides laughed and informed me knee knee is Hawaiian for breast. Neigh neigh is the goose's name. So I kept asking to see knee knee..........
Oahu..... <<< Diamond head after removal of all things man made. << original photo.
This is why when you rent a bike in Wi Kaki you pay for the entire bike and then get refunded all but the rental fees when (IF????) you return it. We got 3 locks per bike and 10 minutes of instruction on how to use them.
